We went off google reviews and drove down from Venice. The food was excellent. I’m a Tom Yum soups snob, and it was one of the best I’ve had. The rolls were absolutely delicious. The scorpion bowl was good too. Food came out fast and we had a great time too!
The closest I have found to an old school traditional Asian sit down restaurant but this one was with a fusion flare. A variety of Asian options including Sushi which was fantastic, well constructed and tasted amazing. Service was great and friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was inviting and traditional which made it a great experience. All the dishes tasted great. The food was seasoned well and the seafood was cooked perfectly from lobster to scallops to shrimp. Nothing was under or over cooked. A great Asian spot in North Port.
Everything we tasted was really fresh and delicious. Service was really good. The place is clean and has a few cute decorations. There's a bar section up front if you wanted to come for a quick bite or a good cocktail. They have good cocktails! We had sushi roll, pad, Thai, teriyaki chicken and everything was really good. The portions are huge. We had lunch the next day. Jen said we're adding this to our list of restaurants to frequent.
Atmosphere: When we arrived the restaurant was relatively slow only a few patrons but as the night carried on it got quite full inside. As it got full it became very difficult to hear anything my wife was saying to me with out having to almost shout at each other. Though for some sound dampening they have added egg crate style sound dampening to the ceiling which looks really bad. The food: We started with spring rolls, krab ragoon, and fried gyoza. The spring rolls were fragrant and delicious. The Krab rolls were more Krab than cream cheese which I liked but my wife did not but that's a personal preference. The gyoza were absolutely amazing cooked perfectly and wonderful in taste. For supper I got a Mr. Sushi plate with an additional Alaskan roll and a royal roll as well. Everything I had was perfect and I can see why people love this place. My wife got chicken hibachi which was pretty standard nothing to write home about but she did really like the wonton soup that came with it saying it was very flavorfull. Service: I think they were a bit understaffed for a Saturday night and our waitress was seen walking briskly to get orders and drinks taken care of. Our food took a little while to come out but that's to be expected at a sushi restaurant as it's hand made. Cost: We wound up spending over $100 but we were on our anniversary so that was to be expected. If you're keeping it simple it's easily $20-$30 per person
It was really good tasty and fresh food and presentation was good but The only one dish that I didn’t like was pineapple rice with chicken that was gross unless you like boiled chicken and rice was sticky The picture is how we left it. They probably should get rid of this dish. At least out of my bill, but I still have to pay for something I did not enjoy that was kind of a bummer. Besides that their Mongolian beef is delicious. And sushi was really good and tasted fresh, beautiful presentation
We had reservation and our table was not ready, we waited for 30 min. Food got to the table in two parts and some people were already half way through the dinner when the rest was still waiting. Food was presented beautiful and tasted good. Parking lot is big.
Very nice restaurant. Service was very good. Food was great, considering that the restaurant is far from anywhere. Definitely worth the stop if you are looking for Asian food nearby.
We are so blessed to have the best sushi/asian Big Bamboo restaurant two minutes from where we live in El Jobean Port Charlotte. At least 4 prior restaurants that I knew about, have failed in this very visible location along SR 776. This is truly a community restaurant. During Hurricane Ian, Big Bamboo cooked truck loads of food and distributed to the homes of the affected community for free!!! The staff there - Leo, Lily, Tiger are such fun, unique characters and excellent at their jobs while making dine-in such a pleasant experience. We have tried many sumptuous dishes there but last night's sushi Keto Kiss roll, Christmas roll, and Ocean Medley appetizer was simply marvelous and a work of art and love. Try this restaurant and you will be hooked! BTW, I am Asian and have very high standards when it comes to food.
